Pastor John (PJ), preached his first sermon at age 18, and 30 years later continues to share inspirational messages. Born in Ames, Iowa and raised as a Lutheran, John joined the charismatic movement attending Life Pacific University in Southern California. He finally settled in New Mexico where he pastored for nearly 20 years and now serves as one of the Teaching Pastors at Revive, a non-denominational Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Ever since age 13, when John hammered out his first manuscript on an old Smith-Corona typewriter, his life aspiration is to be a published writer. John has written nearly twenty books (yet to be published) and is currently working on the sequel to his first book (available here) with a follow up adventure entitled "My Civic Duty - On the Run." Other literary projects include: "The Excellence of Extravagance" and one his wife is urging him to finish called "The Silver Sword." John's writing abilities were recognized when he was awarded a $4,000 scholarship for an essay he submitted to Project Working Mom.
From an early age John began playing the drums and writing poetry. In his twenties he learned the piano and added melody to many of his earlier poems. Most songs came from times of prayer and devotion and first debuted in John's church during praise and worship. Last month, John recorded I Will Look to You with The Real Matt Jones. The song is currently available on his website and will soon be on iTunes and Amazon for sale.
John began his career as a web guy at the turn of the century building websites for churches. He graduated valedictorian from Full Sail University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degreen in Web Development & Web Design and then worked for studio x in Santa Fe serving a worldwide clientele. John currently works as the Webmaster for Rio Rancho Public Schools and serves many long-term clients as a Freelance Web Developer. Click here to check out all of John's web catalog.
